Good morning, Stillwater! I saw a bumper sticker on Main St. the other day that said “No Farms, No Food”. I don’t know why but it really hit me. We sure would be up a paddle without a pickle without farms and the families that work them. Keep them in business and in your prayers.
I hope you’re looking forward to the weekend. There’s a ton of fun, exciting, interactive and memory-making activities happening around town now. I’ll hopefully see you out there.
In today’s edition:
Where to get your gourds (Pumpkin Patch deets) 🎃
Western Swing Dance and concert in the park 🎺
A Honda Motorcycle and giant plush cartoon cats up for grabs 🏍️
Free Family Fair 🎉

Let’s get right to it!

Town & Gown Opens it’s 75th Season with Legally Blonde
The Bend 'n Snap, works every time! If you love that line or don’t know it yet, I recommend you check out Town & Gown’s latest production Legally Blonde.
The hilarious and celebrated musical Legally Blonde, based on the 2001 film of the same name, chronicles the journey of the famously perky Elle Woods, a fashion-savvy UCLA sorority member who finds her life turned upside down when she is dumped by her boyfriend, Warner. In an effort to prove to Warner that she is more than just a pretty face, she defies the odds and gets admitted alongside him at Harvard Law, where she struggles to fit in and succeed.
Showtimes run from September 24 - 28, October 1 - 5 & 8 - 12, 2025 at 7:30 PM (except for Sunday Matinee) Checkout their digital program! Tickets

Walk to End Alzheimer’s is Almost Here 👟
Stillwater’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s event is coming up next Saturday, October 4. The walk raises funds for the Alzheimer's Association nonprofit to help support cure research. And we’ve already been stepping it up! We’ve raised $30,641 so far, which puts us at over 60% of our $50K goal.
The walk starts on Willard Lawn at OSU (just north of lovely Theta Pond).
Saturday, October 4
🕤 9:30 AM – The Party begins
🎤 10:00 AM – Opening ceremony and walk kickoff
🚶♀️ Route: I couldn’t find exact details, but I believe it’s about 2.5 miles through campus

It’s a beautiful, fun, and impactful way to spend a Saturady. Strollers, kids, and leashed dogs are welcome, and it’s a rain-or-shine event. Must register in advance.
Learn to Western Swing… Then Show It Off! 👢🕺
Block 34 and the Community Center have two really fun things are coming up this weekend.
First up: Western Swing Dance Lesson
Local dance instructor Janice Hunter will offer a free Western swing dance lesson tomorrow, Friday, Sept 26 from 7–8:30 PM at the Stillwater Community Center (8th and Duck). You’ll practice the basics of swing dancing and learn some simple line dances. No partner or experience needed, just come ready to have fun.
Up next: Community Picnic Finale
Once you’ve nailed your Hair Flip Dip-Candlestick-Reverse Pretzel routine 😁, bring your moves and dancing energy to the Community Picnic Finale on Sunday, Sept 28 from 1–4 PM at Block 34!
This will be a 1930s-style picnic with live Western swing music from Oklahoma Swing, lawn games, and free pie and drinks from the library.
🎟 Space is limited. Register here.
History on Display at Block 34 🏛️ ⛏️
Speaking of the Block 34, have you ever wondered what used to be there? If so, be sure to stop by the Block 34 Exhibit Reception this Friday, Sept 26 from 4:30 to 6:30 PM to see historic photos, maps, old business listings, and even some things dug up during construction.
It’s over at the Stillwater History Museum at the Sheerar ( 702 S Duncan Street ). Light refreshments will be provided.
Pumpkin Patch Opens on Friday! 🎃
You might have seen the pumpkin painted hay roll on Stallard and 6th lately. It can only mean one thing…

Look at all them pumpkins! (From https://www.facebook.com/stillwaterpumpkinpatch)
Stillwater Noon Lions and the Highland Park United Methodist Church are opening their annual pumpkin patch tomorrow (Friday). It’s a more festive way to pick out giant gourds than an cardboard bin at the store IMO.
It opens This Friday from 1-7 pm but this is just the beginning! They have weekend activities, music, bake sales, carriage rides, and all manner of festivities going on up until Halloween time. Here’s a post that details their schedule.
🎃 Friday, 1-7 PM, 524 N Stallard St.
P.S. if you’re looking for a pumpkin patch in the Perkins area, checkout Grider Family Farm in Perkins, opening on Friday, 9/27. Entry is free.
P.P.S. Up in Glencoe is the Oh My Gourd Pumpkin Patch. They’re having a Fall Festival on Oct 4-5th. There are probably more!
Free Family Fair this Friday! 🎉🤩
Those Bible Baptists are at it again! After you checkout the pumpkin patch, drive down Jardot for this year’s Family Fair Night. It looks like a blast! On Friday, Sept 26, from 6 to 9 PM families are invited to have a great time on the lawn area on the west side of Bible Baptist Church.
All are welcome, and it’s free. Entertainment and festivities include carnival games, bouncyhouses, music, hayrides, food trucks, facepaintings…the whole family fun shebang. Thank you Pastor Wayne Hardy and your people for putting this together!

LOCAL BUSINESS
🎂 🥳 Happy Birthday Philmo Bakery!
Although their OKC Farmer’s Market one-year birthday party was a couple Saturdays ago, I wanted to give a Happy Business Birthday to Phil Moffat of Philmo Bakery. His baked goods are baked greats! The Moffats are such a sweet family. They were some of the very first subscribers to our paper when we published last year. Phil bakes his bread in his bread shed on his property and does bread “drops” at Good Little Eater. If you want to join the ranks of scores of happy bread eaters, you can sign up to be notified of his bread drops here.
Wishing you all congratulations on your first year and many more prosperous and flourishing years ahead!
