WHAT’S UP IN STILLWATER
Community In-Person Thanksgiving Dinner 🦃🥗
All are invited to the Community Thanksgiving Dinner at First United Methodist Church Family Center on 7th and Duck, 11 AM – 12:30 PM. It’s free and open to any and all.
Want to help? There are a variety of roles for volunteers—sign up here. I counted 34 slot openings for side salads (jello, macaroni, potato, fruit, leaf salad etc). Donations are also welcome.
Bring a friend, come hungry, and enjoy a meal with your neighbors and friends. Come even if you don’t know anyone–strangers are just friends you haven’t met yet.
Payne County Flea Market 🛍️
Just outside town by the fairgrounds is the laid-back shopping experience of the Payne County Flea Market. It’s likely to be infested with deals (not fleas) in tools, handcrafted items, fruits and veggies, and nice people. Stop by the Payne County Expo Center on Saturday, Nov 16th, open 10 AM – 4 PM.
And this time you can buy locally-designed wrapping paper to wrap your locally-made jewelry while sipping on locally-warmed hot cocoa! 🤪The proceeds from these wrapping paper sales will support local art initiatives. Saturday, Nov 16th, from 10 AM - 2 PM at the Prairie Arts Center is the place to be to get a jump on your holiday shopping.
Chili Cookoff for a Cause ♨👩🏻🍳
After the Pop-Up Art shopping or Flea Market, head over to Stonecloud Brewing for the Leadership Stillwater Chili Cookoff, supporting Stillwater Group Homes. From 12 PM to 4 PM, sample chili from locals like:
Sarah Ramsay (Good Little Eater)
Chef Audra Carter (Small World Supper Club)
Cory Williams (Look Properties)
Bobby Wintle (District Bicycle).
Taste, vote, and stick around for the winner announcement at 4:30 PM. Proceeds from the cookoff and a portion of Stonecloud’s sales for the day will benefit Stillwater Group Homes. Just don’t give chili to your baby unless you have an extra supply of diapers! 👶🏻
Tickets are $15 at the door to taste and vote. More info here.

Bible Baptist Church announces “A Christmas Carol” 🧣🎁
“The Stillwater community is invited to a Christian adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol presented by the members of Bible Baptist Church. The play will be performed at 7 PM on Dec 13th and at 1 PM on Dec 14th at the church, which is located at 115 N. Young St. in Stillwater. Several photo opportunities will be available before and after the performances, and a festive cookie decorating time will follow the Saturday showing. This is the first time BBC has put it on, and they’re hoping it will become an annual event!
LOCAL BUSINESS
Nothing Bundt Cake Opening 🍰
Let them eat cake! Or, better yet, let us eat cake – because Nothing Bundt Cakes is opening in Stillwater on Saturday the 16th! They’re next to T.J. Maxx and Homeland at 505 N Main Street. Their menu offers a variety of cake flavors like lemon, snickerdoodle, chocolate chocolate chip and even a gluten-free option. Most cakes are 8-10”, but if you’re in the mood to dive into a cake and down the whole thing on your own, they offer a personal-sized cake just for that occasion called a “bundlet.”
New Main St. Boutique Grand opening 🛍️ ˗ˏˋ ✞ ˎˊ˗
After their soft open in early October, Bloom With Grace Boutique will hold their grand opening from Thursday the 14th through Saturday the 16th. They are “a mother-daughter owned shop… passionate about sharing faith and style, offering a unique selection of clothing, jewelry, gifts, Bibles, journals, and devotionals.” You’ll find them right next to Murphy’s Department Store at 813 S. Main St.
Showroom Closing Sale 🕯️💡
Locally-owned and operated Amber’s Lighting & Home Accessories is closing its showroom at Lakeview Pointe and going online only. If you’re looking for lighting fixtures and showroom decor items, stop by Friday and Saturday from 11 AM – 3 PM to check out the deals.
Don’t Sweat the Sweet Stuff 👩🍳🥧
I’ve seen grown women cry (true story) over how much baking they have to do for Thanksgiving, and it’s not pretty. Y’all need to delegate! But if you don’t have an extra sister or Aunt Mamie on hand for dessert duty, let Persimmon Hill Farm and Bakery be your honorary Aunt Mamie. They’ve got at least 14 pie options you can order to round out your feast. But Aunt Mamie is in high demand, so order before next Friday, Nov 22nd!
