Star Trek fans, this one’s for you 🖖🛸

Downtown Stillwater Holiday Kickoff Weekend ✴️ 🎁

First up is Orange Glow Friday Downtown. Local merchants will turn up the Orange Glow to celebrate the last home OSU football game as they play Texas Tech. (Let’s Go Pokes!) Shop, stroll, and soak up the festive vibes downtown.

Next is the Holiday Street Vendors Market. It’s like Krazy Daze, but with a festive twist. Food trucks, special deals, and local vendors will line Main Street to help you sleigh your holiday shopping. Plus the warm and fuzzies you’ll get for supporting local businesses. 🛍️

The Fruit Truck is Rolling In! 🚚🍊

The Fruit Truck is pulling into Stillwater with a load of fresh and preservative-free Mandarins. As they put it, "If you want it fresher, you'll have to pick it yourself." All sales happen right at the truck and they only accept cash, venmo, or checks.

When: Tuesday, Nov. 26, 10-10:30 AM (They’ll do their best to be on time)
Where: OK Discount Construction Supply Parking Lot, 901A E. 6th Ave Directions
What: Sweet, seedless, and oh-so-easy-to-peel Mandarins, plus Elliot pecans.
How Much: ~$45 for 20 lbs

They’ll only be in Stillwater for a short period of time, but if you’re a fresh fruit fanatic, you technically could follow the truck around Oklahoma and raid all you can. Here’s the schedule. Maybe bring a disguise so they don’t catch on 🥸😉

The next return is in February, with a load of Florida Strawberries🍓. Yum!

Down the road a piece is the annual Lost Creek Bazaar
This Saturday, November 23, from 8 AM to noon, head down to the annual Lost Creek Bazaar for a day full of goodies and good eats!

Here’s what’s in store:

♬ Oh What Fun It Is to Slide (and Scout for 🌲)♫

Christmastime and woods just go together, don’t they? I just learned that we have a local, family-owned Christmas tree farm in Stillwater planning a memorable night.

Tomorrow evening at 5:30 PM the Leafer Lodge Christmas Tree Farm is inviting the public to their 10-acre farm off of Lakeview Rd and Fairgrounds. While it may not be “a one-horse open sleigh”, there will be a one-tractor open hay ride through a candy cane forest. Kids can go crazy on a 40-ft slide and then settle in for a showing of the movie Elf on a 300” screen.

Oh, and the big guy himself—Santa!—is scheduled to make an appearance. 🎅

Visiting the farm is free, but there’s a $20/car charge to cover the movie licensing fee. They’ll have outdoor seating with heaters but still dress warm for the movie! 

While you’re there, you can scout out the farm for a Christmas tree (opening day is Saturday at 10 AM). Most are home-grown except the fir trees hailing from Oregon. Marin Leafer recommends the Nordmann Fir trees and wreaths if allergies are a concern. Details here.

Macaron Merriment You Might Like 😋

Bill and Shonna Richardson at Persimmon Hill Farm & Bakery have just rolled out their new Thanksgiving- and Christmas-flavored macarons. While pies and cinnamon rolls usually steal the holiday spotlight, these macarons might just give them a run for their money. A few weeks ago, I bought a birthday cake macron for my wife Amber and she said “That’s the best macron I’ve ever had–and I’ve been to Paris”. She didn’t want it to end. Consider yourself warned!
