Cool Classics at Sheerar, No Tux Required 🎶😎

Here’s a nice date idea alert fellas! An evening of piano quintet pieces by Schumann and Dvořák in the charming Sheerar Auditorium.

It’s the right balance of free and fancy, so you can leave your powdered wig at home and save your date-night dough for a nice dinner at Zannotti’s… or Sonic, depending on how things are going.

Big thanks to Ashley Cooper for the tip!

LOCAL BUSINESS

🧺 New Local Wash & Fold Service
Stillwater local Chelsea Wilson is now offering a wash & fold service with pickup and delivery called Load Off My Mind. And boy what a good title. It really is a load!

The pricing starts at $1.50/lbs if you provide supplies—or $1.75 if she does. The AI bot says a typical load of laundry weighs in at around 7 lbs. So at 7 x $1.50, that’s $10.50, not too shabby! You can text Chelsea at 918-605-4886 to schedule.

🧔 Father’s Day Finds Around Town
On my first Father’s Day in Stillwater, I woke up to a wind-toppled fence and a Nacho Libre card that read “Nacho average dad.” Not sure I’ll ever top that.

Here are a few places you can check for dad-related gifts in town:

📍 Typo Market (123 E. 9th Ave) is offering 25% off men’s items June 9–14—cologne, socks, books, maybe even a Nacho card!
📍 Sharpe’s Department Store (between Ollie’s and HomeGoods) is also running a Father’s Day sale the same week. They’re stocked with apparel, hats, boots, and shoe deals—and speaking of shoes, I could use some running ones. So honey, if you’re reading this… 😉

👢 Cowbelle’s and Cowpoke’s Consignment Is For Sale
Sydnee Hooper, a longtime supporter of our little paper and owner of Cowbelle’s and Cowpoke’s Consignment, announced this week that the shop is officially for sale. She’s moving on to a new chapter, and we’ll sure miss her!

If you or someone you know might be the right fit to carry the torch on this beloved local business, reach out to [email protected].

🤖 Lunch with a Side of AI
WorkIT founder and all things business superstar Kristen Hadley is hosting a casual lunchtime roundtable on Wednesday, June 11 at noon to talk about how artificial intelligence is shaking things up in work and life. If you’re curious and want to learn some practical ideas that might help in business, y’all are welcome. No computer science degree required! Lunch is catered. Members eat free, guests are welcome for $10. RSVP a spot here.

✂️ Snip Snip and Celebrate!
Duncan Catering is celebrating their grand opening and joining the Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, June 10 at 11:30AM. A crowd of hungry folks who just so happen to be there right around lunch time? Smart move! Their new location is just west of the Bumblebee Transformer past Country Club Rd at 5601 W 6th Ave.
