Sponsored By Stillwater Public Education Fund
Yes oh yes, dear reader! Taste of Stillwater is back on Tuesday, March 4th in its 28th fundraiser year!
If you’ve never been, here’s how it works: pay once for your ticket and then get access to a buffet of over 30 local restaurants—all without the drive-thru. If it’s a restaurant you like, chances are it’ll be there. Use your ticket to visit vendors as much as you like to sample all of the yummy food available! And the best part of all is all the funds go to support SPEF teacher grants & special programming for our kids in school.
It will be held at the Payne County Expo Center on Tuesday, March 4, 5:30-7:30 PM.
But don’t wait till you’re at the door! Buy your family tickets in advance and save $5/ticket. See the downloadable flyer at the end more details ⬇️.
WHAT’S UP IN STILLWATER
Crack the Code, Win a Prize! 📰 🔍
SLL Issue #9 lands tomorrow and there’s a riddle hidden in the classifieds section. Yes indeed, we added a classified section! (I’m probably the only millennial on the planet excited about classifieds, but hey). And I figured since none of us have eggs to crack, so a riddle might be fun.
Here’s how it works:
1️⃣ Get the paper—pick one up around town or sign up for home delivery.
2️⃣ Read and enjoy while putting on your thinking caps
3️⃣ Crack the riddle on page 6 (or wait for your hint if you’re a paid subscriber).
4️⃣ Send your best guess to [email protected].
5️⃣ Solve it? Your name goes into the next paper.
6️⃣ Paid subscribers who crack the code get entered to win a local prize (likely a dinner for two—more to come on this!).
Get ready, get set, have fun!
The Fruit Truck is Back Again! 🚚🍓
Before you head over to Taste of Stillwater later that evening, grab a taste of Florida, Florida fresh strawberries, that is. They say they’re so fresh that if you want them any fresher, you’d have to pick them yourself!
The Fruit Truck will be here Tuesday, March 4, with juicy, preservative-free berries—perfect for jam, syrup-making, baking, freezing, etc.
📅 When: Tuesday, March 4 | 8:00–8:30 AM (They’ll do their best to be on time!)
📍 Where: OK Discount Construction Supply Parking Lot, 901A E. 6th Ave
🍓 What: Fresh Florida strawberries (~8 lbs for $30)
💰 Payment: Cash, Venmo, or check—no cards.
They won’t be here long—only about a 30 minute window! Set those alarms and get there early! 🍓⏰

But you get to pick what you do. Whether you want to learn a skill, revive an old hobby, or just make more time for creativity, this challenge is all about the process, not pressure.

Meet Bella, 5 | Meet Cheesy, 9 |
Meet Bella and Cheesy. Don’t let those kitty glares fool you. Both are quiet and sweet. And they would love to be lap kitties. Their previous owner passed and now they’re looking for their second home. One of their former housemates (Manny, 9) was recently adopted. They want to join him!

Jiu Jitsu Academy of Stillwater Hosts Friday Open Mat 🥋🍝
Why the pasta emoji? you might be wondering. I’ll tell you. I love Jiu Jitsu because it can teach you how to tie up your aggressive opponent into a figurative spaghetti ball until help comes or they give up. You get to leave unhurt, and if they are a good spaghetti ball, they do to.
This is a great skill to know. Even a couple of sessions at the Jiu Jitsu Academy of Stillwater, led by Edgar Escalante, would do you some good. He offers Friday Open Mat sessions for those looking to train, learn, or refine their Brazilian Jiu Jitsu skills. Open to all experience levels! Spaghetti, anyone? 🍝
📍 Location: 1116 1/2 S. Main St, Stillwater
🕖 Time: Fridays | 7–9 PM
💰 Cost: Free with a signed liability waiver
